Breath

Mind and breathe – a shift in one impacts the other.

How you’re breathing can reveal your current state of mind- maybe you’re feeling pretty good thinking about happy hour cocktails with friends or colleagues. Or maybe you’re feeling a bit stressed, trying to wrap up everything before the workday ends. Finding our breath restores us, and helps us save our energy for those big moments when we need our mental resources the most.

Box breathing is a deep breathing technique that can help you slow down your breathing, calm your nervous system, and decrease stress in your body.

Box breathing is a simple, yet powerful relaxation technique that massages your abdomen while returning your breathing pattern to a relaxed rhythm.

Repeat the below steps multiple times a day to reset and refocus:

  1. One: Slowly breathe in counting to four while feeling the air enter your lungs.
  2. Two: Hold your breath for four seconds.
  3. Three: Exhale slowly through your mouth for four seconds.
  4. Four: Hold your breath for four seconds. Repeat.
