✨WOW! The Odyssey Journey has begun, and yesterday was nothing short of transformational! I’m beyond honored and grateful to have hosted our very first Self-Care for Leadership Odyssey Event.

A huge heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kate Truitt, Ph.D., MBA—an incredible visionary who I am so blessed to call both a friend and colleague. Her concept for the Odyssey set the tone for this amazing journey! Terrie’s journey from nursing to medical sales was a decision to balance family life, but her world was forever changed when both her sons, Marc and Michael, were diagnosed with cancer. After the heartbreaking loss of Michael, she transformed her grief into purpose by founding the Michael Magro Foundation, which has since raised over $3.5 million for pediatric cancer programs across 19 hospitals in 9 states.

Terrie’s leadership in running this nonprofit is truly inspiring. She has skillfully balanced the demands of leading a successful foundation with the importance of self-care, which she believes is crucial to sustaining the energy and compassion needed to support others. Her dedication has earned her numerous accolades, but the real measure of her impact lies in the countless lives she’s touched through her unwavering advocacy for pediatric cancer care.

This foundation set her on a path to becoming a successful Administrator/CEO in Healthcare, where she built premier medical practices with both clinical and financial excellence.

Mae’s incredible ability to create a cohesive team environment and inspire others led to a 98% retention rate in her organizations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she showcased her adaptability, becoming a sought-after Health and Safety Supervisor and Compliance Officer, working with major production companies like NBC, Netflix, Disney, and Focus Features.

Her passion for health and wellness led her to launch @amaezing_midlifeandbeyond, a platform dedicated to empowering women, discrediting ageism, and supporting transformational change. As an event director, host, and coach, Mae brings unmatched energy and attention to detail, ensuring every event is a “wow” experience.

But Mae’s talents don’t stop there—she’s also an entrepreneur, having owned a children’s boutique, a medical billing company, and a day spa. Her commitment to excellence shines through in everything she does, including her work with numerous community charities and global medical missions. As the Vice President of the Blue Star Moms NY6 and Ms. New York Senior America Queen 2023, she continues to make a positive impact, discrediting ageism and supporting veterans and active military.

When leaders bring their whole selves to their roles, they integrate personal values and purpose into their actions, supporting their team to do the same.

To adopt a holistic leadership approach, ensure your behaviors align with your intentions. Reflect on how you want to show up as a leader and person. There’s no such thing as compartmentalizing our careers, our families, our communities, or even ourselves. Our lives are interconnected, so it`s crucial to make time for all aspects.
